04/07/1999 v HEXTABLE

lost

Old Dartechs played Hextable for the second week running and unfortunately the outcome was the same but in very different circumstances.

Old Dartechs batted first Steve Lawton and Neil Priddy doing the honours this week. Neil recently returned from Honeymoon was caught at the wicket for a duck and it was left to Steve and Andy Steene to stage a recovery. They put on 32 for the second wicket before Andy fell lbw for 16. An all too familiar then followed and no one else reached double figures though martin came close with 9. Old Dartechs were out for 76 in just 24 overs and Hextable went in to bat before tea.

Tony Day took an early wicket but by the time the tea interval came Hexatable were well on their way to winning. However there was a spirited fight back from Old Dartechs after tea as both Tony Day and Neil Priddy made up for failures with the bat.

Eventually Old Dartechs took seven wickets, as Hextable were made to fight hard for the runs they needed.
