Match Report

15/08/1999 v SWANSCOMBE AND GREENHITHE

Won

The pitch at Sutton again proved lively at the start and Old Dartechs found scoring runs more diffiucult than in the last match between the two sides. Steve lawton and neil Priddy went relateively cheaply and the two heavy scores of previous matchesTony and Jock did not go on to get big scores.

It was left to Adam Deal to come to the resuce with a fine 60. This was a really creditable knock since Adam has been coming in at 5 6 or 7 all year and has not had the opportunities that other batsmen have had higher up the order never-the- less he has played some really useful knocks and this was one of them.

Old Dartechs scored 150 which is a fair score on the Suton pitch however given the strength of the Swanscombe batting the Skipper must have wondered whether this was enough. If he did then he neeednt have worried because the Swanscome batting collapsed

spectactuarly and were dismissed for just 37. (And Bob Dunkley- who reallly likes this pitch- didnt even get a bowl). It was A.Meaton(a Sutton player) who did the early damage and took 3 for 12.

Paul Allen and Richard Coverly scooped a couple of wickets each and predictably the skipper bought himself on at the end to mop up the rabbits! Another super win, and proof that we can bowl other sides out
