lost

Another loss at New Ash Green

Mark Sidthesloth Richardson

September 12:08 Sunday saw us away to new ash green we turned up to the joy of being told it was a timed game. *groan* Once gain Ace proves to be a useless tosser and lost. with the opo electing to bowl out we went to bat with Mitch and peg opening. Mitch got lucky after knocking 2 into the air but not so lucky the third time being caught after only a couple of overs bringing in josh who looked good but again a few went into the air and was lucky not to be caught then his luck ran out and was caught. in came tony who stuck around until peg was dismissed. in came Jason who stayed in a while getting a few runs but i had the unfortunate task of giving him out as he caught an edge straight to the wicket keeper. next came pistol a few runs were gained and then unfortunately stu was out after hitting one in the sky. in came ant with score board looking at 50(ish) for 6 but pistol and ant stepped up putting runs on with a great partnership of 50(ish) but alas all good things must come too and end with ant getting out. so in came the big H who is a very able batter creating a nice partnership for a few overs until the ball clattered into the stumps sending pistol out. in came glen at 10 (after turning down opening i might point out) the two young guns put on about 20 and then poor harry hit one up and was caught. Next came in our resident number 11 The Morph who faced 3 balls in the over trying to work out how to get a straight bat glen then faced hitting a 2 then a 4 then a single which seemed like a good idea at the time until i found the edge of my bat and out we went with a mear 130 on the board. so in we went for tea.

Out to field we went with Harry opening the bowling down the hill and The morph bowling up the hill. The first two batsmen were quite good sticking around for a while I was taken off after nearly taking the batsmen head off and stu(?) came into bowl then Harry made the first blow dismissing the first then in came the next batsman who was not quite as good as the first but was rather controversially given out by the umpire from the opposing team as everyone heard a noise which was bat hitting pad not ball. Then in came a batsman who didn’t really look like a number 4 more like a number 12. stu taken off up the hill and put on bowing down the hill with ace deciding to bowl up the hill. It didn’t take long for the number 4 to be out by stu great ball on middle stump. In came number 5 with the pairing being 1 and 5 and the score board looking promising at about 40-4 we pressed on with ace getting a wicket and out came there number 6 who looked better than the last two and mitch came on to bowl down the hill. With the first two balls being really high and loopy the boundry was found but he got his eye in and started getting dots. Then ace bowled a good over and then mitch bowled a couple then another loopy one which was heading toward glen who dived forwards and made the catch which I would personaly say was rather amazing. So in came number 7 who was rather tall and with glen bowling up the hill the score started to tick over and with 20 overs remaining the score was 90(ish)-6 which was good. So we cracked on getting dots and the occasional 4 and the two batsmen got there eyes in and started finding boundaries and with 14 overs to go they only needed 1 an over so the ace steped back in and bowled a great over with only 1 run being scored then mitch bowled a great over getting only 2 hit then ace came to bowl and unfortunately a couple were bit wide and were punished with boundries and that was it they made it to 131-6

in my opinion Man of the match goes to Harry for his great bowling and Glen for his diving catch
